History of innovations

Suomen Rehu was formed, originally, as the animal feed division of Cultor, who were previously known as Suomen Sokeri (Finnsugar). These companies invested heavily in R+D of sugars, enzymes and yeast as animal feed ingredients. They had an international reputation for innovation and developed such products as natural betaine, Xylitol, Acetona and Progut®.

In 2014 we launched Progres®, the first natural product, which has been proven to exhibit a direct anti-inflammatory effect in gut tissue.

Progres®, Progut®, and Progut® Rumen form a major part of our export range today. We are also investing in new product development and hope to add significant new products to this range in the future.

Our staff has a wide range of language and technical skills. All speak English fluently. We have 4 Russian speakers (1 native speaker) and 1 native English speaker.

What sets us apart is our network of research partners offering a synergistic combination of skill sets in microbiology, animal physiology, gut health and animal production performance. Together we investigate product candidates, especially from the Finnish nature, that may offer solutions to the food production challenges of today and tomorrow.
