Progut® Rumen: Description

Progut® Rumen is a yeast-based feed ingredient aimed at enhancing rumen fermentation for better milk production, growth and feed efficiency of ruminants. The product is produced with a patented (EP 0946108) hydrolysis process from inactivated brewery yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). The unique, optimised process leads to high amount of soluble, bioactive oligo- and polysaccharides and peptides that are enhancing microbial activity in the rumen. Enhanced rumen fermentation has resulted in trials on average to 1.8 kg higher milk yield per cow/d and 5-7 % better feed utilisation.

The product is light brown, free flowing fine powder and can be used for dairy cows, beef cattle, sheep, goat and calves. It can be mixed with a compound feed or used in premixes or mineral feeds. The product is stable in storage and feed processing and has scientifically proven effects.
